purim craziness 06

welcome to purim 06. we have all of your purim needs from costumes to shalach manos to reading of the megillah. but before we go into that let me give you all the background that led up to this years amazing purim experience.

sunday: started off like any other normal day in smicha. that stopped after mincha as Jb and I packed up and headed off to Its Delish to pick up chocolate. obviously being the a day before puirm (as it started monday night) we went in with our wigs on. that was fun. i even got to tour the plant and see all of the cool machines - and all of the personal labor also. as we were getting out Rabbi Tiechman
and his wife came by to tour the plant as well, and boy did i get eyes (not only was i wearing the wig but also a kapata and glasses from the cheese plant :D).
after that down to irvine to deliver shalach manos for the shul. and then you guessed it back up to yeshivah (that was painful).

monday: yippy, a fast! well wasnt so bad. nothing happening in yeshivah so we headed down to irvine to finish the deliveries and get last things for jb and myself. after mincha one of the baalie batim in the shul decided i needed more thrills in my life so he lent me his mazda miata for the shalach manos deliveries. now that was FUN!
costume time. well spent like an hour putting on my makeup for this years night reading. and what a freaky look it was too. at shul we had two different readings going on symultaneously. one that started on time and one that started 20 mins after. i stood at the door greeting everyone and boy did i get some cool looks - some frightened ones as well ;). was really cool the first night as i
had fangs in my mouth as well - JB and I were good and evil vampires respectively. so everytime we smiled people had to look twice. party was awsome with a DJ and crazy dancing. had a bunch of college kids show up and they formed the
core of the dancing - along with irvine's finest (go Rammi). at the very end 3 smicha guys came on their way back up from laguna niguel so we had a mini farb at my place. and then zzzzz.

tuesday: brrrring. how annoying. 7 am!!! sheesh. i just danced all night! oh well up for minyan and then came back home to have baila do my makeup (minus the white base). - oh btwy she did mine and chanchy's makeup and i think she did a fabulous job (check the pics). off to tvt (tarbut v'torah), the jewish day school near newport beach. man the kids really took a liking to my costume and must have
been really funny to them as i was the one reading the megillah.
then next door to deliver shalach manos (my personal - not shul's) to my friend dan who heads the aquatics department - yeah he has an amazing job! also got to read megillah again for the bureu and had rabbi rebeckah (i think that was what her name is) attend. and when got up to parts where the audience participates in the reading she tried to do the trop - was really amusing ;).

well off to more deliveries and then the shul's suedah (meal)l. and was that great. Yossi levy really did an amazing job with the music and the dancing was incredible - i dont know what it is but JB and i were discussing it and there is something about irvine that just lets you go :). hey we even played musical chairs and jason and i after getting out had a chair jumping contest (i think i maxed at 6 but
thinking i can probably dive over more :D)! then back home with smicha guys in tow (as they had all gotten a bit under da influenza of the alchohol). for the sake of the innocent more details on their exploits will not be mentioned ;).

well back to yeshivah on wedn. we were gonna come in costume but being so out of it we decided not too. also my pants were in the wash when we left ::shrug:: oh well...

about the pics. not many gonna go up now as i personally didnt have time to take many - as i was dancing the whole time. but getting from people who did. so here for now and others to come im'h.

to top of this amazing week we are having a smicha shabboton in irvine! my mother is the incredible! even after purim she's gonna put up with about 19 of us immature 2o something year olds ;).
LOVE YOU MOM!!! (awwwwww) well wish her and irvine luck ;). - dont worry im going down early to helpout ;).

oh and in the words of my cousin shaya : "...levi danced monday night, tuesday night, wednesday night(over here i told him another wedding tonight) and thursday night! well that it levi can die (chalilah) and go
heaven" - personally though i would rather not die or anything close. so MOSHIACH NOW! and hope we can all dance together at the greatest simcha of all in YERUSHALAYIM SPEEDILY IN OUR DAY!!!

ps when moshiach comes purim is still gonna be a celebrated holiday!!! :D
